Robert was born June 12, 1941. He is preceded in death by his parents, Peggy and Jack Walsh; sister, Paulette Millette; brothers, Mark Walsh and John Walsh and granddaughter, Zoe Eloise Walsh.
He attended Little Flower grade school and graduated high school from McGill Institute in 1959. He was a 1963 graduate of Spring Hill College. He served his country in the 82nd Airborne Field Artillery, retiring after 35 years of National Guard and Reserves as a Lieutenant Colonel.
He spent his summers swimming and boating on Mobile Bay and duck hunting in the Delta. However, dove hunting was his favorite activity.
He worked at Walsh Stevedoring and later for Ryan-Walsh Stevedoring. In later years, he started a new career in the insurance business.
Bobby was a member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church, Men of St. Joseph, Knights of Columbus and dearly loved his Mardi Gras organization and members.
Mr. Walsh is survived by his wife of 60 years, Madeline Wall Walsh; five sons, Rob, Ted (Paige), Chris, Jack (Tracy) and Tom (Caroline); two brothers, David and Vic Walsh; sister, Peggy (James) Pritchett; grandchildren, Kasey, Brady, Madeline, Lydia, Lee, Thomas, Catherine, Meggan, Morgan and Darrell.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, February 10, 2023 at noon at St. Ignatius Catholic Church. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Pine Crest Cemetery.
Memorials may be offered to St. Ignatius Building Fund, Little Sisters of the Poor or your favorite charity.
