Robert (Bob) Louis Cooper, a native of New Orleans, LA and longtime resident of Mobile, AL, passed on Wednesday, July 17, 2019, at the age of 74. Adoring husband of Kaye Jordan Cooper; loving father of Desiree Marie Farid, Micah Jordan Cooper, and Ryan Louis (Krystal) Cooper; dear grandfather of Amna Sophia (Dylan) Hunn; great grandfather of Lillia Marie and Corinne Lynn Hunn; and loyal shooting companion to brothers-in-law Francis Wayne (Paula) Jordan and James Madison (Sherrie) Jordan. He is preceded in death by parents Elmer Louis and Nettie Marie Cooper; stepfather Georges LeBlanc; and son Jason Louis Cooper.
Bob was a decorated combat veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the US Air Force in the 333rd Tactical Fighter Squadron of the 355th Tactical Fighter Wing at Takhli Royal Thai Air Force Base. Upon returning to the states, he became a Sales Manager for D. H. Holmes, later Mobile Fixture. Bob was a longtime member of the Mobile Mystic Stripers Society, serving as their 2015 Mardi Gras King; a member of the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick, Lifetime Member of the Vietnam Veterans of America and an avid New Orleans Saints fan. Bob was known for his kind heart, his love of the outdoors, and his holiday Macaroni and Cheese casserole.
Visitation will be held Sunday, July 21, 2019 2019 from 2:00-3:00pm with Funeral Service at 3:00pm, at Radney Funeral Home, followed by a reception in Rue Dauphin Room, Interment will be at Lake Lawn Cemetery, Metairie, LA. Arrangements by Radney Funeral Home, 3155 Dauphin Street, Mobile, AL 36606.
