Paul Bennett Cato, 58, life-long resident of Mobile, Alabama, passed away on Thursday, December 30, 2021. He was born to Walter and Voncile Cato on January 13, 1963. Paul owned Mobile Pools for 29 years. He was the master of a grill, and the king of boiling crawfish. Paul loved to fish, and was a avid Alabama Football fan. Out of all of his many interests, however, Paul’s soul thrived in music. He was an accomplished songwriter, and could very rarely be found without his guitar. Paul had a contagious enthusiasm when it came to his music, which spread to all who surrounded him.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents; and step-daughter, Jennifer Hall.
He is survived by his wife, Mary K. Hall; daughter (step) Jamie (Tim) Dalton; grandchildren, James Hall, Jessica Waltman, Kendall Hall, and Tyler Cannon; sisters, Wanda (Alan Grantham) Zehner and Hilda (Joe) Iniguez; brother, Terry (Lisa Roper) Cato; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other cherished family and friends.
Visitation for Paul will be held on Monday, January 10, 2021 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Pine Crest Funeral Home on Dauphin Island Parkway, with a service in the chapel immediately following officiated by Rodney Owen. Interment will be in Pine Crest Cemetery. As we gather to celebrate Paul’s life, the family asks that you wear blue jeans and an Alabama shirt, or fishing shirt in honor of who Paul was.
