Mary Anne Grieme Moore

Mary Anne Grieme Moore – age 87, born June 10, 1928 in Ludlow, Kentucky, to the late John H. and Marjorie C. Grieme, and a resident of Mobile for over 70 years, passed away quietly in her home on Friday, January 8, 2015. Mrs. Moore was a 1945 graduate of Murphy High School and was a member of Delta Beta Sigma Sorority. Upon graduation, she attended Auburn University where she was a member of Kappa Delta Sorority. Prior to getting married, Mrs. Moore worked for the Army Corps of Engineers and later served as a legal secretary. She enjoyed a lifelong love of music, studying the violin in her youth, and playing for both the Murphy High School Orchestra and the Mobile Symphony. She was a longtime member of Spring Hill Baptist Church. Mrs. Moore was preceded in death by her husband, Judge John Lauthlin Moore, III. She is survived by her children, Anne Moore Patton and John L. Moore, IV (Anne); and grandchildren, Lauthlin Anne Lose (William Douglas), James Moore Patton (Camille C.), John Thurman Moore all of Mobile, and Cadet Thomas Ware Moore, USMA, West Point, NY. The family will receive friends at Radney Funeral Home on Dauphin Street on Wednesday, January 13, 2016, from 3:30 until 6:30 p.m. Private graveside services will be performed at Magnolia Cemetery in Meridian, MS on Thursday, January 14, 2016.
