Leslie Hinson, formerly of Waveland, Mississippi, passed away peacefully at Mobile Infirmary in Mobile, Alabama on October 14th, 2022. Leslie was a current resident of both Mobile, Alabama and Gulfport, Mississippi. Leslie was a previous resident of Waveland, Mississippi, from 1966-1975. Leslie attended the Bay St. Louis school system where he graduated with the class of 1974. He was a standout 4 star athlete earning All-conference Gulf Coast honors in 1974 for Football, Basketball, Track and Baseball. After his high school career, Leslie earned a Football scholarship to attend Pearl River community college in 1974-75 where he had a stellar career as Tight end for the PRC Wildcats. After earning his Associates degree at Pearl River, Leslie attended the University of Southern Mississippi where he earned his Bachelor of science degree in 1979. For over 40 years, Leslie successfully worked in various positions in the oil industry. Leslie was an avid sports fan and a loyal supporter of the New Orleans Saints, Bay High Tigers Sports teams, and member of the PRC Pearl River football alumni association.
In Leslie's final years, he had several of his close Mobile and Gulfport friends help out as daily caregivers. Christy and Albert Keuler should be commended as true and loyal friends assisting Leslie in all his daily needs. To Keith "Weasel" Hunt of Mobile for his friendship and loyal support. Leslie was preceded in death by his father, Hillard B. Hinson, and mother, Edith Hinson both of Pine Bluff, Arkansas and longtime residents of Waveland and Gulfport, Mississippi.
A memorial service, Celebration of Leslie's Life will be held in Bay St. Louis, MS, with dates and times to be announced at a later date. Condolences may be offered at www.radneyfuneralhome-mobile.com.
