Lanier "Shot" Owen Tanner

Lanier Owen “Shot” Tanner, 72, was born on November 10, 1944 and entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 while at home in Tanner Williams Alabama. Shot was preceded in death by his parents, Harry Owen and Mary Tanner. He is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Jennifer (Harrison) Tanner and 5 children: Leamon Owen Tanner (Norma Jean), Virginia “Gina” Phillips (Ed), Christina Rives (Chip), Samantha Parker, Matthew Tanner, and 8 precious grandchildren Amanda, Georgia Brooke, Taylor, Lilli Grace, Gracie, Luke, Ty, and Jessy. Shot is also survived by his siblings: Betty Jo Roberts, Billy Tanner and Virginia “Sparkle” Tanner. Visitation will be held at Radney Funeral Home on Friday, April 28, 2017 from 5-7PM. The funeral services will be held at Wilmer Baptist Church on Saturday April 29, 2017 at 10:00 A.M. Shot will be laid to rest in a graveside service immediately following the funeral at Trinity Baptist Church Cemetery. After owning and operating his own dairy farm for over 50 years, Shot was then able to enjoy the simple pleasures in life; traveling, visiting his Amish friends, working with his horses, soaking in the atmosphere on the front porch, riding around in his gator, and spending time with his dear friends and family.
