Joseph Russell Jones III

Russ was a native of Mobile and graduated from McGill Institute in 1961. He was self-employed as a commercial plumbing contractor for 38 years until his retirement in 2002.

Russ was a loving man, completely devoted to his grandchildren. He was an amazing husband, father, and grandfather, and will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 56 years, Elaine Kennedy Jones; children, Kendal Jones Jempson (Dennis), Joseph Russell Jones, IV (Stephanie), and Amanda Cook Jones (Matt Conger); six grandchildren, Joseph Brooks McDonald, Rylan Patrick McDonald, Joseph Russell Jones, V, James Michael Jones, Peyton Michelle Jones, and Samuel Joseph Jempson; one sister, Mary Melinda Gilbert (Danny); as well as nieces, nephews, and other cherished family and friends.

A private graveside service will be held in Pine Crest Cemetery.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to Comfort Care Hospice.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to McGill-Toolen Catholic High School or Magnolia Cemetery.
