John Meacham Walter

John Meacham Walter, age 55, passed away tragically on Sunday, July 4, 2021 on his much loved Dauphin Island. He is preceded in death by his grandparents Sara and Jack Meacham and Charles and Jonell Crouch, his uncle, Joe Spurgeon, brother, Bill Walter, III and father-in-law, Martin Hedgepeth, Jr.

John was a graduate of Florida Southern and was Executive Territory Business Manager in Hematology at Bristol Myers Squibb. He enjoyed fishing, boating and hunting. He also enjoyed drumming and played at the Church of the Island.

John is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Caroline and son John Martin. He is also survived by his parents, Bill and Pat Walter, mother-in-law, Barbara Hedgepeth, sisters-in-law, Kathy Walter and Courtney Knoll, brother-in-law Sam Knoll, nephews, Austin Walter, Griffin Edwards, niece, Katherine Walter and other aunts, uncles and cousins.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Radney Funeral-Mobile on Friday, July 16, 2021, from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Memorial service to begin at 2:00 p.m.

The family request you come comfortably attired, as that is how John would like you to feel.
