He was preceded in death by his father, Colonel Jerry Michael Elder, and brother Jonathan Matthew Elder. Jeff graduated from Murphy High School in 1988. He served in the US Army USAMEOS at Fitzsimmons Army Medical Center in Aurora, Colorado. Jeff was a 25+ year employee of Getinge Maquet, specializing in hybrid surgical equipment. Most recently Jeff founded his own company The Pool Boy. Jeff loved to fish, hunt, cook and spend time with friends and family. He never met a stranger and was always the first one to help anyone in need.
He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Kelley Dorgan Elder, his two children, Jacob Michael Elder and Sydney Louise Elder, his mother, Mary Criswell Martin, his brother, William Scott Elder, his stepmother, Jackie Steadman Elder and numerous relatives and friends.
A service will be held Saturday, October 29, 2022, 11:00 am, at Ashland Place United Methodist Church, in Mobile, Alabama. A reception will follow at the Fellowship Hall. In lieu of flowers, donations in remembrance may be made to the American Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.
