Jean G. Cary, 84, a resident of Mobile, Alabama, passed away on Wednesday, February 6, 2019 at a local health care facility. She was born on February 18, 1934 in Bay Minette, Alabama to Harold George and Thelma Viola (Hastings) Gilbert. Jean was a 2nd grade teacher at Woodcock Elementary School in Mobile for many years. She was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church in Bay Minette.
Jean is preceded in death by her parents, her brother Harold Gilbert, and infant son Harold Adrian Cary. She is survived by her daughters Kathryn (Terry) Crawley, Kimberly (Bo) Barnes, and Lynne Cary; grandchildren Victoria Crawley, Phillip Crawley, and Priscilla Barnes; great granddaughter Elizabeth Docen; brother John Edward (Linda) Gilbert; and sisters Ann (Arthur) Hartshorn, Gail Hardy, and Louise (Myron) Brazwell .
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, February 9, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. from Pine Grove Cemetery, 41775 Pine Grove Rd. Bay Minette, Alabama 36507. Pastor Mark Daniel will officiate.
