James Alexander Harris, 88, of Mobile, Alabama, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 24, 2023. Mr. Harris served his country honorably with the United States Navy during the Korean War. He retired from the U.S. Corps of Army Engineers. Mr. Harris was an avid Alabama fan, and was a long-time member of Spring Hill Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by parents, James Albert and Grace Frost Harris.
Mr. Harris is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Norma Sue Harris; brother-in-law, Ronnie W. Hutchins (Carolyn); one niece; one great-nephew; caregiver, Leigh Anne Edens; as well as a host of other cherished family and friends.
Funeral Services for Mr. Harris will be held on Friday, July 28, 2023 at Pine Crest Funeral Home on Dauphin Island Parkway in Mobile, at 10 a.m. Interment will be in Pine Crest Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Spring Hill Baptist Church.
