Gerald "Jerry" R. Smith Sr.

Gerald "Jerry" R. Smith, Sr. of Mobile, AL went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday evening, November 9, 2016. Jerry was a retired pipefitter and a member of the Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 119 for 52 years. He was an attendee of Orchard Baptist Church. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, "S. H." Smith and Minnie Mae Smith. He is survived by his loving wife, Sybil Dunnam Smith of Mobile, AL (also a member and vice-president of Local 119). A brother, James Alton Smith of Mobile, AL and a dear, life-long friend and brother, Tommy Winders, also of Mobile. Additionally there are his six children: Tim Smith, Stephanie Sill, Jerry Smith, Jr., Susan Wheeler, Scottie Waltman, and Amanda Carlock and a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren. Arrangements for Jerry are visitation Sunday from 3:00 pm until 5:00 pm at Radney Funeral Home- Mobile. Funeral services will be Monday at 10:00 am at Orchard Baptist Church. Interment will be at Mobile Memorial Gardens immediately following the funeral service. A reception/luncheon will be at Orchard Baptist Church thereafter.
