Edward was a member of Providence Presbyterian Church. He was a supervisor and glazier at Mobile Glass Company. In his free time, he loved to watch and play sports. He was a shortstop at Murphy High School and would later coach the church softball team. Edward also enjoyed playing golf and watching college football, especially Alabama.
He also enjoyed tinkering with projects and working on a home improvement. Edward never did anything half way and was a perfectionist. Even in his golden years you might find him on the roof fixing the shingles, hanging from the chimney as he painted, or climbing a tree to trim the limbs. Nothing held him back. He was everyone’s superman and was loved by all who knew him. He was always humble. He was a great friend to many and always put his family first.
Edward was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Joe Bolton, Thelma Davison, Sidney Bolton, Henny Bolton, Lenny Bolton; and his son, Charles Bolton.
Edward leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife of 63 years, Mina Hamrick Bolton; daughter, Julie Steele (Jerry); sons, Ted Bolton, and Robby Bolton; brother, Douglas Bolton; 5 grandchildren, Jeremy, Jamie, Bucky, Susan, and Zack; and 5 great-grandchildren, Aubrey, Oliver, Ava, Maxwell, and Matilda; and many friends and family.
A visitation will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, January 29, 2022 at Providence Presbyterian Church at 2320 Schillinger Road S, Mobile, Alabama 36695 with a funeral service at 11 AM. Burial will take place following the Funeral Service at Pine Crest Cemetery 1939 Dauphin Island Parkway, Mobile, Alabama 36605.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Providence Presbyterian Church.
