Dorothy Louise Thornton

Mrs. Dorothy Louise Thornton – 86; a native and lifelong resident of Mobile, AL died Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at the family residence. Mrs. Thornton was a member of Hollinger’s Island Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Irving Carpenter Thornton; two brothers, Sidney James and Billy James; and two daughters-in-law, Joyce Thornton and Joanne Thornton. She is survived by five children, Patricia A. (Steve) Holden, I. Mike Thornton, James David Thornton, Judy (Terry) Wendt, and Richard Henry (Nancy) Thornton; one brother, George Henry; twelve grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives. The family will receive friends from 5 P.M. until 8 P.M. on Thursday, May 23, 2013 at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10 A.M. on Friday, May 24, 2013 from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens.
