David was born March 5, 1946 in Memphis, Tennessee. He lived the first years of his life in Tunica, MS. His father was David Williamson Yarbrough and his mother was Cleo Marguerite Hartsfield.
He moved to the Mississippi Gulf Coast, Biloxi, when he was nine years old where he attended grade school, junior high, and Biloxi High where he graduated in 1964. He had two sisters, Carolyn Yarbrough Huttig and Karen Marguerite Yarbrough.
David attended Perkinston Jr. College, served in the United States Army for 4 years as a Special Forces Weapons Instructor, and returned to Biloxi MS to attend Gulf Coast College and then the University of Southern Mississippi where he graduated in 1975 and lastly, the University of South Alabama where he graduated in 2005, receiving a Masters of Science in Computer and Information Sciences the same night that his youngest Daughter Michele Ann Yarbrough received her Masters of Arts in Public Administration from the University of South Alabama.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Carolyn. He is survived by his children, Mary Kathleen Yarbrough and Michele Ann Yarbrough, his wife Mary Raymond Yarbrough and his sister Karen Marguerite Yarbrough.
He worked at Ingalls Shipbuilding and was employed by Northrup Grumman until his retirement.
Visitation will be from 10-11am followed by a funeral Mass at Our Savior Catholic Church at 1801 Cody Road, Mobile, AL 36695. The internment will be at 2 pm at the Evergreen Cemetery in Ocean Springs, Mississippi. Flowers may be sent to Radney Funeral home or in lieu of flowers a donation may be made to the American Heart Association in David’s name.
