On Saturday we lost Darin Andre Crowe. Born in Birmingham, he graduated from A. Crawford Mosley High School in Lynn Haven, Florida and received a BA from the University of South Alabama with a degree in Art.
He was a rascal with a silly sense of humor. Darin was a loving husband, doting father, and loyal friend. He never met a stranger and could talk to anyone anywhere about anything. He was generous with his time and energy. Whenever anyone needed help with a project he would be there with the right tools, a wealth of knowledge, and entertaining conversation. He always had a ready ear for friend, family, or random stranger should they need someone to talk to.
Darin was a lover of animals and the outdoors. He loved to explore wild places and had the gentle step and patience of one who truly wanted to observe nature undisturbed. He loved to fish. He fished with his grandfather in Magnolia Springs as a young boy, later with his father in the Florida Panhandle, and in his later years in the waterways around Mobile. Being on the water brought him peace and joy.
Darin served in the United States Marine Corps after high school. He went into the service with a love for marksmanship, and left with a love for his country and many stories of adventures overseas as well.
Darin was completely devoted to his family. His son, Connor, was his little buddy. One of the greatest joys of his life was taking his daughter, Freya, to soccer practice and games and all the time they spent in the car with each other as she shared what was going on in her heart and he shared wisdom and silly jokes.
Darin was preceded in death by his father, Karl Crowe, and his son, Connor. He is survived by his wife Lynetia Lenz Crowe, daughter Freya, mother Patricia Boggs Crowe, and sister Sarah Crowe Davis.
He will be sorely missed by many.
Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Radney Funeral Home on Dauphin Street on Saturday, April 27, 2024, at 1 p.m. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the service hour. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens. Condolences may be offered at www.radneyfuneralhome-mobile.com.
