Carol Virginia Wright Wooley of Lillian, Alabama, died at her residence on Perdido Bay, on June 17, 2016. She was 78 years old. Born in Reform Alabama, Mrs. Woodley resided in Mobile and Baldwin Counties for most of her life. She loved the beaches and waterways of the area and spent the larger portion of her life living and working on and around Mobile Bay. She enjoyed fishing and boating for many years. Mrs. Wooley was a successful business woman who was an owner/partner in numerous business ventures, including, among others: The Silver King Restaurant, Wooley Dredging Company, Trailway Oil Company, Southern Foundation Drilling Company and most recently, various ventures under Kingfisher Enterprises, including the former location of Battleship Exxon and the Original Oyster House. Mrs. Wooley was an active supporter of many charitable organization with her favorites being The Big Oak Ranch and St. Jude Hospital. She was preceded in death by her father, Clifton Wright, brother, Gary Claude Wright, mother, Evelyn Freeman Sauce, stepfather, Nevin Bernard Sauce and aunt, Mabel Wright Cane. She is survived by her devoted and loving husband Floyd Edward Wooley; daughter Kathryn Wooley England, son, Floyd Clifton Wooley; grandchildren, Steward Jarrod England, Matthew Edward England, Clifton Lee Wooley, Allison Wooley Dedeaux and Alexander Wooley; six great-grandchildren and one brother, Joseph W. Swain, Jr. The family would like to offer a special thanks to her home nurse, Leslie Wilson, caregivers, Shaiquila Betts, Charlenia Benson and Latarchia Edwards. They lovingly cared for Mrs. Wooley and supported us 24 hours a day during the last two weeks of her life. A special thanks also to her hospice nurse, Brigette Clarkson. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 21 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and funeral services to be held in the Chapel at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 22, with interment at Pine Crest Cemetery on Dauphin Island Parkway. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Big Oak Ranch and St. Jude Hospital.
