Carolyn Evonne Jimmerson

Carolyn Evonne Moore, affectionately known as “Honey” to all of her family, was born on May 12, 1942 to John Esther Moore and Ella D. Moore in Deberry, TX. Carolyn was raised in church and attended Paradise Baptist Church in Shreveport, LA. It was there she received the Lord as her personal savior and began using her Alto singing voice to lift praises to the Lord.

After graduating from Booker T. Washington High School in 1961, Carolyn moved to California to be with her brothers, Alphonso and Alonzo. There she met the McDonalds family, who helped her gain employment with the City of Santa Ana, Parks and Recreation Department, where she served for 33 years.

Carolyn was united in holy matrimony to the love of her life, Micky Jimmerson, Sr. on February 18, 1970. Through their union two children were born, Mickey Jr., and Yumika Lynn.

Carolyn was a faithful servant. She served her community by volunteering with multiple organizations including the Orange County Black Historical Commission and helped Helen Shipp establish and organize the Orange County Black History parades. In 1972 Carolyn and Micky joined the Second Baptist Church of Santa Ana and faithfully served on the Deaconess and Deacon Boards. Carolyn genuinely cared for the well being of others and often sacrificed her own needs for the sake of others. She was a counselor and confidant to many. She was a kind, gentle, loving, extraordinary, generous, beautiful soul that will be missed by all who knew her.

Carolyn is survived by her loving husband, Micky Jimmerson Sr., her son Mickey Jr., daughter Yumika (Cleve), her sister Annie B. Morris, grandchildren Kayden, Ayana, Tierra, Sanaa, Nailah, Brandi, Isiah and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

A visitation for Carolyn will be held Wednesday, September 14, 2022 from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM at Fairhaven Memorial Services Chapel, 27856 Center Dr, CA 92692. A repast and wake will occur Wednesday, September 14, 2022 from 3:30 PM to 6:00 PM, 27856 Center Drive, Mission Viejo, CA 92692. A reception and fellowship will occur Wednesday, September 14, 2022 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Fairhaven Memorial Services, 27856 Center Dr, CA 92692. A pre- service viewing will occur Thursday, September 15, 2022 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Second Baptist Church, 4300 Westminster Ave, Santa Ana, CA 92703. A funeral service will occur Thursday, September 15, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Second Baptist Church, 4300 Westminster Ave, Santa Ana, CA 92703. A graveside service will occur Thursday, September 15, 2022 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at Riverside National Cemetery, 22495 Van Buren Blvd, Riverside, CA 92518.
