With profound sadness and enduring love, we share the passing of our beloved mother, Dr. Ana Maria Montero De Sanchez. Born in Brazil on June 24, 1939, she moved to Argentina as a young girl, beginning the remarkable journey that would shape her life. Surrounded by her devoted family, who cherished and adored her dearly, she departed this world peacefully on October 28, 2024.
Our mother was a true force—mighty, strong, spirited, and deeply loved by all who knew her. A tiny woman known for her high heels, bright red lipstick, and colorful clothing, she lit up every room with her energy. A poet, a dancer, and a lover of the natural world, she embraced life with an open heart and an unbreakable sense of joy.
In 1981, our family journeyed to this country, it was then that she started her garden, planting all of us here and watching her garden grow. Family was her greatest joy, and she treasured every moment as it grew and flourished around her
Ana Maria’s heart was always open, and her presence was a gift. She welcomed all with warmth, embraced silliness, and never hesitated to share her joy. She gave her family the gifts of laughter, courage, and the freedom to be fully ourselves.
Ana Maria is survived by her ex-husband, Pedro; her five children—Gabriel, Sandra, Olinda, Yamila, and Pedro; and her sixteen beloved grandchildren, each of whom will carry forward her love, strength, and legacy.
In loving memory of our mother, a life of beauty, courage, and boundless love.
