Maria Balderas

Maria, 80, of Delmita, Texas, passed away on May 19th, 2023, due to natural causes. She was born on April 29th, 1943, to Rodolfo Hernandez & Juanita Mora in McAllen, TX. In February 1961, Maria’s sister, Irma, invited her to eat at OST Cafe in McAllen, Tx. Little did Maria know that her future husband worked at the cafe and would be their waiter. Manuel showed interest in Maria when he gave her a quarter to play a song on the jukebox. That song led to Manuel and Maria talking the night away. The evening ended with Manuel asking Maria to go on a date. They joined hands in marriage on October 11th, 1961.

For 62 years, Maria cared for her husband, children, and grandchildren. She was a wonderful wife, loving mother, and committed grandmother. Maria was predeceased by her father, Rodolfo Hernandez; her Mother, Juanita Mora & brothers, Miguel Baldarena, Roberto Hernandez, and Ruben Hernandez. She is survived by her husband, Manuel; children, Manuel Jr., Gabino, Oscar/NIko (Sonia), Ruben (Laura), Diana, Patricia and her 18 grandchildren, Justin, Alexis, Adriana, Destiny, Mikey, Anthony, Priscilla, Marissa, Faith, Liliana, Cynthia, Crystal, Christopher, Alyssa, Victor, Thomas, Esmeralda, and Manuel III.
