Out of the nine siblings Estela had four brothers and four sisters, being the seventh child of the nine children. She married Leandro Ochoa Sr. on July 6, 1951, and enjoyed 58 years with him. They were four days shy of their 59th anniversary. Estela was a graduate of San Isidro High School Class of 1949.
Estela is survived by her six children, Vicenta Cortez (Daniel), Joel Ochoa (Herminia), Adrian Ochoa (Gloria), Nelda Gandaria (Rudy), Leandro Ochoa Jr. (Sara), Irma Gonzalez (Rolando). She had 18 grandchildren, and 25 great grandchildren.
Estela was known as a soft-spoken person, reserved but always enjoyed a good joke. During her high school years, she excelled in her studies and was known for her meticulous ways. She took pride in all her work efforts as a homemaker and in her appearance. Estela was a selfless individual, who touched the lives of many within her family.
Estela's domestic role as a wife and mother took priority, except before God. Devoted and a faithful mother, attending Our Lady of Guadalupe Church of Mission, where her husband had served as lay minister for over 40 years. Her faith in God was witnessed though her very last days praising and thanking God for all his goodness.
Our mother was an exemplary individual, she was the glue that kept us together until her last breath. She made all her children feel loved and special. Estela's faith, strength, endurance and spirit is what we admired the most especially on her last days. Even though witnessing you leaving us to your eternal home was difficult, we were also rejoicing for your new beginning in heaven.
Thank you, Mama, for all the love you gave us. We love you very much.
