Ron was born in West Hollywood, California on December 3, 1938. After living in North Hollywood and the San Fernando Valley for many years, he escaped to the beach in Oxnard, California where he enjoyed the ocean, the beautiful weather and a more relaxed pace of life. Being from a motion picture family, it was no surprise that Ron went to work for the Screen Actors Guild in Los Angeles and worked there for many years until he retired to the beach full time. He moved to Minnesota in 2012 to be closer to, and spend more time with his family whom are grateful for the opportunity to have had quality time with him. He had a passion for collecting and was “All in” as he acquired holiday collectables, movies and DVDs, Star Trek memorabilia, artwork, and stamps for his beloved stamp collection. He was in his “happy place” when he was watching classic movies, researching online for additions to his stamp collection, and when he was spending time with his family. Ron will be remembered for his kind and generous heart and for his loyalty to his family and friends. He will be deeply missed.
Preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn Gordon, parents Betty and Sam Gordon, and nephew Chris Cheren. He is survived by his daughter Debra Gordon, his daughter Jennifer Gordon Hakes (John), brother Alan Gordon, sister Roselle Gordon, granddaughter Allyson Hakes, grandson Jacob Hakes, and his nieces and his nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 18, 2:00 pm at Groman Eden Mortuary at 11500 Sepulveda Blvd, Mission Hills, California. Burial will follow at Eden Memorial Park.
