June 14, 1923 - June 2, 2013
Passed on peacefully in her sleep just shy of her 90th birthday on June 2, 2013 due to natural causes. Helen lived a long, fulfilling life as a homemaker and office worker. She was born on June 14, 1923 in Brooklyn, New York. Helen met Joseph Rosenthal during World War II while Joseph was serving in the U.S. Coast Guard. Joseph was assigned to guard a pier in New York City and Helen worked in an office not too far from the pier. They met each other and soon fell in love. They were married in 1944 and celebrated 68 years together before her passing. Helen will always be remembered for her ardent consideration of everyone else before any concern for herself. She devoted herself to her family and was loved by everyone in turn. Helen adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was so lucky to see them all grow up to be wonderful people.
Helen is survived by her husband, Joseph, children Robert (Nadezda) and Nancy (Harald), grandchildren Melony (Matt), Aron, Joshua, and Gilyana, great-grandchildren Hailey and Caleb, and nieces and nephews.
A service was held at Eden Memorial Park on June 5, 2013.
