Abram Hamm, aged 74 years, entered peacefully into rest at Pleasant View Care Home on August 27, 2012. He is lovingly remembered by his wife Gwen Hamm, daughter Rachel Martini (Dmitri), sons Greg (Aimie) and Derek (Megan), grandchildren Quentin, Gabriel and Phineas, brothers Rudy, Bill, John, Ernie, Dan, Hermie, Ben and Chuck, and sisters Emilie Patton and Elsie Jamieson, as well as many relatives and friends.
Abe taught with the Mission School District for twenty-seven years at Bell Road, Mission Central and Edwin S. Richards Elementary Schools. He is fondly remembered by many students. Abe was an active member of Mountain View Gospel Chapel, Mission Christian Fellowship and Northside Community Church, teaching Sunday School and leading Bible studies. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed gardening and camping in B.C. and across Canada. He also enjoyed traveling, sports, classical music and photography. He was a devoted father and husband. He fought Parkinson’s Disease with dignity and determination for twenty-four years, living life as fully as possible.
A Graveside Service will be held at Hatzic Cemetery, 34867 Cemetery Road, Mission, on Friday, August 31,2012 at 11:00 a.m. followed by a Celebration of Life Service at Northside Community Church, 33507 Dewdney Trunk Road, Mission, at 1:00
p.m.
The family would like to express their thanks to the wonderful staff at Pleasant View Care Home for the exceptional care they gave to Abe throughout his five years there.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Parkinson’s Association of B.C.
