Bobbie Fink English, 69, of Weddington, NC, closed her eyes on this earth August 29, 2013, and the gates of heaven opened for her. She was an angel, and now she joins her infant son, Thomas Tod English, and her parents in heaven after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer.
Born September 12, 1943 in Baltimore, MD, Bobbie was the daughter of the late Richard and Beulah Fink. She was a lifelong member of Allen Street Baptist Church, which became Shamrock Drive Baptist Church, which became Grace Crossing Baptist Fellowship. Bobbie loved her church, Grace Crossing, and would help in any way she could. She took her grandchildren every Sunday she went.
Bobbie was a 1961 graduate of Garinger High School. Also in 1961, she married Thomas H. English at Allen Street Baptist Church.
Bobbie worked for Central Motor Lines, Williams Electric Company, Cedarwood Country Club, Atlantic Envelope Company, and retired from U.M.A.R.
An excellent tennis player, Bobbie played in the Queen City League. She was also an excellent duck pin bowler, and later bowled in several ten pin leagues.
Bobbie enjoyed going to Sunset Beach with her family and friends, and loved very much doing activities with her three grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Thomas H. English of Weddington, NC; sons, Richard B. English and wife, Wendy, of Charlotte, and Robert (Boo) T. English and wife, Diane, of Weddington, NC; and grandchildren, Tyler, Camille and Ben English.
Bobbie had the most beautiful smile and was the most lovely lady inside and out. She was loved by everyone who knew her, and will be missed by all.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from 12:00 until 2:00 P.M. on September 3, 2013, at McEwen Funeral Service, Mint Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews-Mint Hill Road in Mint Hill.
