I had Mr Heyer as a teacher in the 70’s when I went to Johanna Junior High. He was a special teacher and one I’ve never forgotten. May he rest in peace 💙

Yes, he was a very thoughtful and smart person, he was a very good friend of my dad's ( Mr. Tom), I remember when my dad had heart surgery, he came and sat with all of us kids and it such a pleasant and beautiful visit, he actually was walking in the hospital and spotted my dad in recover and was able to see him before any of us, and made us all feel so good about it, he made us laugh and a lot of memories were shared, as he had each 5 kids in at least 1 one of his classes via it be Johanna or Mv  my dad was very happy to be with him a lot in his final days, and I know he misses him. Sadly, I just learned of the loss of this great man. 

I was a student of Mr. Heyer at Johanna Jr. High between 1971 and 1973.  He was a great teacher, and has always been one person I aspire to be. My prayers are with Mr Heyer's family.  I too was one of the many students that was blessed to have him as a science teacher at Johanna Jr High School (1963-1964).  He was a gift to us  and vested in his students.  Science was never as intriguing after you were taught by the best.  He left his mark on many and now he knows  just how many lives he impacted. Mr. Heyer was one of my favorite teachers and the only science class I really enjoyed! But he didn't teach only science, he taught us about life and being good people with his funny stories and witticisms. You may have moved on to another place but you will never be forgotten. Thank you Mr. Heyer.

Bob was my Sunday school teacher and next door neighbor to my parents at Linwood Lake.  He was the greatest.  Everyone I know who knew him respected and truly liked Bob.  Quite a guy!

Our thoughts and prayers will be with you today as you say your last earthly good-byes. We are sorry we could not attend the service.

I have fond memories of Mr. Heyer, for he was my Biology/Science teacher at Johanna Jr. High and also again at Mounds View High School.  He was my favorite teacher, and he always made the class interesting and fun with his great humor, even while dissecting frogs.

Rest In Peace, Bob.  
You were a great teacher, and made Moundsview the best.  You were a good friend of many and certainly a good friend of mine.

Bob was a good friend to many of us from Faribault and Morristown while attending Mankato State in 1950-53. We were so proud that one of us made teacher of the year, Bob laughed at himself as he received the award from President Getald Ford, saying "I really didn't know what to say to the President" A fine person welcomed into heaven.

Bob was my teacher and later my colleague.  I remember how proud I was when he became the National Teacher of the Year!  Bob was the epitome of a great teacher in both content and example.

Bob was such a wonderful "new" uncle to me. My whole family thinks of him fondly.  The love and care he showed to my parents meant so much to all of us.

Mr. Heyer was my favorite teacher at Johanna Jr. High.  He gave a whole new meaning to the word teacher.  I had the pleasure of having him back in my life years later when he became a regular customer at my coffee house. With his quick wit and kind heart he brought joy to everyone around him.  He will be dearly missed by so many people.  My deepest sympathy to his family, you are all so fortunate to have him in your lives.

Mr Heyer was a favorite teacher.  He taught me 9th grade science at Johanna Junior High.  What a great opportunity it was to study with him.  He made class memorable.  Thanks be to God for sharing him with all of us!

Uncle Bob was a shining sparkle in our family.  He had a great sense of humor and always had a quick wit...his love of the Lord helped him have a life filled with love and happiness.

I remember how patient he was and always made sure you understood what he was teaching. He was truly a great teacher!

He was my favorite teacher, he made science wonderful!  But I will never forget the fire that started in the trash can after our class by the mixing of chemicals.  He will be missed.

As with others I had the great pleasure of having Mr. Heyer as my 7th grade science teacher.  He was wonderfully funny and I often think back to his class with great fondness.  He truly was a great teacher!

mr heyer  was my favorite 7th grade science teacher, he  also  taught me to drive... lol, he was a very great friend to my dad,  we will miss him very much :)

I was fortunate to have Mr. Heyer as my 7th grade science teacher. I too recall memorizing the periodic elements chart. Also remember eating French-fried ants & chocolate-covered bumblebees in his class. When we made esters, Mr. Heyer clearly enjoyed smelling up the school hallways with the odor of rotten eggs. He piqued our curiosity and instilled a love of learning about the natural world in his students. My choice of college classes and major were a result of Mr. Heyer's influence. Even now as I approach retirement, I will carry a part of him with me as I begin a volunteer research opportunity at an environmental research center. He was a natural teacher, a mentor, a wise and trusted supporter of his charges. He had a significant and positive influence on my formative years.  I am extremely grateful to have had the opportunity to have been his student.

One of the best teachers MVHS ever had!  He was truly an inspiration to all of us.  Thank you, dear family, for sharing him with us.  Jan Clasen Klein, Class of '59.

Mr. Heyer was my 9th grade Science teacher and was my favorite. My favorite memory is when he challenged us all to memorize the chemical elements table and whoever passed with 100% got to skip certain parts of class (can't remember exactly what that was) but because he challenged us and believed in us I made a true effort and was the only person in my class to get 100%! When he was chosen the National Teacher of the Year our school was so proud. I still have the newspaper articles from when he met President Ford. What a special man. A true "Teacher". Thank you Mr. Heyer. You will be remembered always.

Mr. Heyer was my favorite teacher at MVHS ('92). He made class so entertaining, he had a wonderful sense of humor & personality. He always called me Gina Lollobrigida! To this day, I remember how much I enjoyed coming to his class or seeing him in the hallways...Those of us who had the opportunity to have him teach us were truly blessed. My condolences to his loved ones...You were also blessed to have him in your lives!

Bob was a Great friend, fishing buddy, and neighbor. The lake is just not the same without him here. He will be truely missed!

Praying for you guys. To go home the week of Easter----must be an awesome experience for your Dad!

Bob was the greatest person I have ever known.  I had so much respect for him. A caring and giving person . He was my teaching friend, my fishing buddie, and my inspiration to look up to.  I will miss him deeply.
