Lori died November 6, 2024 after facing cancer and multiple sclerosis with courage and grace.
Lori was born in La Crosse, Wisconsin, where she spent most of her early years, before earning a B.A. in Chemistry from the University of Wisconsin. She later moved to Minnesota, where she met her husband and soul mate, Gary, at a volleyball game in Minneapolis. Lori dedicated much of her career to working as a medical technologist while they lovingly raised their two daughters, Barbara and Linda.
Lori found joy in travel, reading, the church community, and spending time with loved ones. A reflective and curious soul, Lori had a natural ability to listen with empathy and understanding. Her calm patience, humility, and quiet strength left a lasting impression on those who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gary; daughter, Barbara; parents, Belmore and Irene; sister Sue; and brother Roland.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda, son-in-law, Ken; sisters, Carole, Sharon, Bonnie, and Mary; grandchildren, Randy, Mitch, Wesley, Maya, Jessie and her husband, Valentin; Greg and his fiancée, Bryce, and Harry; great-grandchildren Aaliyah, Kamille, Jayden, and another great-grandson expected to arrive soon. She will also be remembered fondly by many other beloved relatives and others whose lives she touched.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday November 22, 2024 in the chapel at Sunset Funeral Home; 2250 St. Anthony Blvd, Minneapolis. Visitation will also take place in the chapel starting at 10:00 a.m.
