Carol Katherine Schneider

Carol was called to our Lord on Saturday, January 1st, 2022.

Carol was born on February 3rd, 1942 to Paul and Clara Schneider in Clinton, Minnesota. Carol (nicknamed “Katie” to her family and close friends) was a unique and caring individual who touched the lives of all who knew her…especially her 4-legged friends.

Carol grew up in Ortonville, Minnesota and eventually moved to Minneapolis in her early 20’s. There, while living with her sister and working at Butler Square downtown, met her future husband Ronald Gray. They married on September 3rd, 1964 and moved to South Minneapolis. They had two sons (Troy & Todd) and eventually moved to Golden Valley, Minnesota in 1972. Carol began working at Ben Franklin in New Hope, Minnesota in 1964 and was there for 32 years until they closed in 1996. The Family moved to Brooklyn Park, Minnesota in 1976 and Carol lived there for 43 years.

Carol was a hard-working soul and was always busy working or caring for her family, home, or yard and garden. She had a passion for animals of all kinds and always loved having a dog in her life, even if it didn’t actually live with her. She enjoyed keeping track of family and would try and visit them wherever they were across the country. Although she loved to travel, her most favorite trips were to see her twin brother and his horses at his farm in Indianapolis, Indiana. Carol was a wonderfully caring, kind and giving mother and grandmother. She was known to be generous and spoil the ones she loved.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents Paul and Clara Schneider (Striech); her sister Martha Hamey, her sister Betty Schneider; and her chocolate Lab CoCo. She is survived by her brother Kenneth Schneider & his wife Jan; her son Troy Gray, her son Todd Gray & his partner Brenda; grandchildren Gavin Gray and Lauren Gray; many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Carol will be greatly missed by her family and friends. We know we can’t have you here on earth, but we are happy knowing that God and the angels have you now and you will be with the family, friends and pets that have gone to the Lord before you.

Funeral services will be held Friday, January 14th, 2022 at Sunset Funeral Chapel at 2250 St. Anthony Blvd. NE, Minneapolis, MN 55418. Ph# 612-789-3596. Visitation will be from 10am – 11am and funeral service will begin at 11am. After the services there will be a wake luncheon at The 400 Tavern at 1330 Industrial Blvd. NE, Suite 400, Minneapolis, MN 55413.
