Gregory John Anderson “Greg” passed away unexpectedly at his home in Nevada near Lake Tahoe on August 19, 2024 with his loving wife of 26 years by his side.
Born on November 29, 1963 in Culver City, California, Greg was the son of Warren and Eleanor Anderson. Growing up in South Lake Tahoe, he developed an early love for the mountains and all things outdoors, a passion that would fuel his incredible life. In his teenage years, Greg moved to Loomis, California, later moving to Sacramento where he built a successful decades-long career in the electrical industry, dedicating 35 years at RexMoore. He acquired master electrician licenses in 11 states and was a leader known for his commitment and expertise at RexMoore and the Western Electrical Contractors Association, where he served on the board and as past president. Greg was also involved with the Coalition for Fair Employment in Construction, the Pacific Advocacy Group, and at one point served on the board of the Associated Builders and Contractors.
Greg lived his life on the edge of adventure. His love of skiing took him to slopes near and far. He always said any day on the mountain was a good day, whether that be at a ski resort, heli-skiing, hiking, or adventure biking. Greg was a music enthusiast who enjoyed all genres and studied guitar for several years.
A natural thrill seeker, he loved motorcycling, water skiing, traveling abroad, and sailing in far off places. His culinary talents and warm hospitality made every gathering a feast, filling his home with love, laughter, and good company. He treasured his family, his friends, and animals of all kinds. He was a dynamic, charismatic person with a generous loving heart.
Greg leaves behind a world of people whose lives he touched. He was preceded in death by his father, Warren Anderson and is survived by his beloved wife Cheryl, his son Gregory Anderson II, daughter Brooke Stubben (Rob), mother Eleanor, brother Scott (Angela), sister Debi Elrod (Jason), brother-in-law Walter Wildt (Debbie), sister-in-law Jean Gerling, and many nephews, nieces and grand-nephews.
