Stanley Nowaski

Stanley leaves behind his beloved wife, Virginia ("Ginger"), with whom he shared 49 wonderful years of marriage. He is also survived by his cherished daughters and their spouses, Jessica and Christopher Sarlo and Sarah and Mark Peddycoart, and his adored grandchildren, Emma and Lilian Sarlo and Mark and Harper Peddycoart.

Born into a family of Long Island potato farmers, Stanley was one of seven siblings. He was predeceased by his brothers William, John, and Jeffrey, and his sister Joan. He is survived by his sisters Nancy Roesler and Karen Spegele. Stanley is also survived by his loving siblings-in-law: Robert Zebrowski, Bruce and Odile Chilton, Michele and John Casey, Elizabeth Chilton and Michael Sugerman, and Mary and George Coyazo. He was loved by many nieces and nephews, as well as great-nieces and great-nephews.

Stanley lived a life filled with adventure, love, and generosity. A proud graduate and the first in his family to attend college, Stanley met the love of his life, Ginger, during his time at school. Together, they built a beautiful life centered on family, hard work, and shared adventures.

He grew up working on his family’s farm, Nowaski Brothers, a foundation that instilled a lifelong love for the outdoors and a passion for gardening. These values carried into his adulthood as he pursued hobbies such as kayaking, traveling, fishing, hunting, skiing, swimming, and walking along the beach. His happiest moments were spent with family, whether playing with his grandchildren or vacationing with his daughters and extended loved ones.

Stanley was not only a family man but also a successful entrepreneur. Alongside his business partner and friend, Jon Sommer, he built a thriving business from the ground up, later passing on his knowledge and experience to his eldest daughter. He was also a dedicated community member, serving as a board member of the Lewin Hills Association.

Stanley’s greatest joy in life was being “Pa” to his four grandchildren. He loved teaching them about nature, sharing his wisdom, and laughing together. His warmth, humor, and zest for life left an indelible mark on everyone who knew him.

Despite a courageous 26-month battle with glioblastoma, Stanley faced his illness with dignity, honor, and his signature humor. He will be remembered for his boundless energy, adventurous spirit, and the unwavering love he showed to his family and friends.
