Jill Estelle, age 82, passed away peacefully on September 28th, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Born with a heart full of love, warmth, and humor, Jill shared a life of joy and devotion with her husband, Patrick, to whom she was married for over 60 wonderful years. High school sweethearts who went to prom together, Jill and Pat built a beautiful life centered around family and cherished memories.
Jill leaves behind a legacy of love through her children: Lynn; Elaine and her husband, John; Joy and her husband, Jim; and Patrick with his wife, Gina. She was a proud grandmother to ten grandchildren—Tyler, Nicole, Devin, Logan, Kristin, Gavin, Jamie, Adam, Lauren, and Megan—and a great-grandmother to little Brody. Jill is also survived by her sister, Judy, and her beloved cat, Lola.
A homemaker at heart, Jill found joy in life's simple pleasures. She adored babysitting her grandchildren and was always ready for a game of cards, canasta being her favorite, or a lively round of dominos. Her competitive spirit, paired with her sassy sense of humor, was a source of light to everyone who knew her. Affectionately known as "Jilly Bean" by her grandchildren, she had a stubborn streak that only made her more endearing.
Jill had a love for travel she especially enjoyed traveling with her best friend from high school, Phyllis. Together, they visited cherished destinations, with Italy and Ireland holding special places in her heart. While Jill enjoyed spending winters in Florida, in her later years, she chose to stay in New York, preferring to be close to her family. Her children and grandchildren were her world, and she never hesitated to remind them of how much they meant to her.
A proud member of the Miller Place Homemakers, Jill found community and connection with her friends there. Her quick wit, laughter, and vibrant personality will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Though Jill is no longer with us, her memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved her most. Rest in peace, dear Jilly Bean—you will be forever loved and never forgotten.
