I’ve know Ian since he was a toddler frolicking in the beach. From those earliest days it was evident he had an inner “spark” to match his red hair and impish grin. Ian was truly unique soul always ready with a welcoming smile and a big hug. I admired his devotion to his mother, my dear friend Laurie,  and his obvious love for Jenny.  I feel Honored to have watched him grow into the fine man he became. While his loss is deeply felt, I know /believe he is with us still.  Continued prayers for his family.

I am so very sorry.  I want you all to know how close I've kept you in my heart all these years.  I think of our days together often...... I will now smile through tears.  I am sending love and light and all the strength I can muster. 

My family and the Donnellys were pretty close friends growing up on LI.  I lived down the street from his family for over a decade.  We moved to Florida in 2001 and  hadnt heard from him in ages.   I have many great memories of hanging out with Ian, and his brothers Chase and Jess.  Ian and I would ride our bikes all over town when we were kids. I have many great memories of hanging out and his house and having so much fun. These memories will stay with me forever and are a part of my childhood.  I just heard the news from an old friend today and am devastated.I had just recently reconnected with Ian through facebook.  He told me he was living life to his fullest and was excited to reconnect after all these years as was I.  You will be missed very much brother.

One of my favorite recent memories of Ian was during the set up for his and Jenny's wedding this past September.  We were doing chores near each other, and I asked him how he was doing.  He said he was happy to be doing everything Jenny wanted to make the day perfect because she was his angel.  

One of my favorite recent memories of Ian was when we were all setting up for the wedding. Ian was doing everything he could to make the day all Jenny hoped.  We were both working on something near each other, I asked him how he was doing, he told me he was happy doing whatever Jenny wanted because she is his angel.  

I met Ian a few times as he was doing a Remodeling job in the Community I live in, and was impressed that he took the time to talk
and share stories even as he was interrupted from his work.  
One afternoon last Summer, his Mom, Laurie took me for an unplanned ride to chat, as we were winding around closer to the Wading River area, she suggested we drive by Ian and Jenny's  house.
He was there, so we pulled in unannounced and caught him blasting the tunes and laying down an impressive deck of blocks. Again, he stopped to chat and so proudly showed  off the house and Jenny's projects, and to tell us of their future plans, he captivated us both with details. 
He, like his Mother have a special bond that enables them to connect with people easily. He will be forever in the hearts of all who had the opportunity to know this young man.

I would like to add to the message already posted here by my husband, Mike Kardasz.  During Ian's recent 3 days of working at our house, we had many chats about a variety of topics. Mike mentioned some.  I would like to add that at one point we mentioned that our cats were all rescues.  He pulled out his phone to show us pictures of his husky, and told us the story of how he found him out East at a shelter.  He was clearly a dog person.  Also somehow the topic of religion came up. He mentioned his Roman Catholic faith and how he enjoyed going to Church on Sunday.  It seemed to be important to him. Ian was such a down to earth, good person.  We were so shocked and saddened to hear about his passing.  He will be missed by many.  My deepest sympathy to Jenny, and all his family and friends. 

Ian marched to his own drummer….He wasn’t afraid to be himself. He was warm and smart with a good heart. I will miss him and regret his loss deeply. 

I had the pleasure of knowing Ian early on in our childhood where we all had great memories that we will never forget. Ian was a great friend and till this moment as he looks down on all of us. He was always the first person willing to help you out if you needed something and always made you laugh. Ian you will be greatly missed by everyone. Rest easy Bro ☘️

Ian was at our house MLK weekend installing lights in our house. We can't believe he is passed on. We talked to him about his lovely wife and it was clear how much he loved her. 
I talked to Ian about his new/old Toyota Tundra and the Z-car he wanted to restore in his garage. 
We complimented Ian on his work and he said he liked helping nice people.  We told him right back at you. We told him what a difference the new lighting was making. How perfect that his work literally brightened people's lives. 
Ian really was one of these beautiful souls that made everyone's life better.  He helped people who were hurting and needed help and did so in a quiet, unsung manner.

Ian Touched many people with his Big Heart, including myself.It was not unusual for Ian to call up and tell me he was on a job ,doing some type of electrical work or small odds and ends for some woman that was elderly and couldnt afford to pay .I Often wondered how he paid his bills.He wasnt materialistic at all,it just wasnt in his make -up.The gym was his home away from home and  he loved to train .Ian had strength that most men would only hope for .I called him  the “Beast”,and He called me Biggie   Although i was alot older than him he admired old school work ethic .A meticulous dresser when not in his work clothes , He was a sneaker connoisseur.Although i only knew Ian for a short time ,i feel like i have known him my whole life   .i miss our daily phone calls .Till we meet again my brother  💪🍀💚

Ian was a great person and always took the time to say something kind. He had a great sense of humor. I will never forget how he bragged about how beautiful his wife was and that he felt so fortunate to of married her. Prayers for love and strength at this difficult time. Rest easy Ian.

This is such a terrible loss. Ian has touched so many people, more than he could imagine. There was never a dull moment when Ian was around. He worked for me on and off for years. That's because I fired him and took him back because he said I needed him to much to fire him. Lol. whenever you needed him for work or anything he was always the first to offer. I considered him one of my boys. He was dearly loved and will be extremely missed. My heart is broken and my prayers to his wife and family.

I have had the pleasure of knowing Ian the last few years. His contagious smile, playful personality, and his will to better him self was unmatched. He always spoke of the tremendous love for his wife, Jenny. He was simple, never cared much about material things and was willing to help anyone. 
His day began at  5 am with a text message about his super powers in the gym, or telling me to wipe the drool off my face and get out of bed. A real character with a heart of gold. RIP Ian.  Much love and condolences to Jenny  and his family. I’ll will carry his energy and love  in my heart.
