Wai Lup Ma

Wai Lup Ma, age 78, of Salt Lake City, Utah passed away on Sunday, December 15, 2024. Wai Lup was born on July 6, 1946 in China to father, Beng Ma and mother, Yuk Sun Ma. He married Lo, Ion Choi in 1971 in Hong Kong and Macau.

Wai Lup is survived by his loving wife; Lo, Ion Choi, 3 children; Raymond Ma, Rebecca Ma, and Wesley Ma, as well as siblings; Michael Ma and John Ma.

He is preceded in death by his parents; Beng Ma and Yuk Sun Ma, and his brother Waiman.

好多謝你帶我黎呢個世界！我記得我哋係壽菊樓住時，當你放工返屋企行經冷巷時掛住在身上鎖匙發出的聲響！就知道係你返。細個曳同唔聽話做錯嘢嘅時候、最驚就係見到你揸住嘅拖鞋。打完真係有一個鞋印㗎(又紅又腫)！仲有你有時收夜班或者同朋友打完牌後、會買宵夜返黎比我哋一家人食！不時星期日放假又會同隔籬鄰舍一齊揸公司架小巴去海灘游水燒嘢食同香港四圍去。又試過跟你車返工一齊去接遊客去海洋公園、山頂….去咗好多地方。到咗中學時如果啱時間又會車埋我哋我返學校。又介紹我去咗機場做地勤。好多謝你啊老豆、拜拜啦老豆。希望唔再有痛苦、想食乜嘢就食乜、可以再四處去。

We lost our most beloved dad. He has been a rock to many, a husband, a father, a brother, a handyman, an auto mechanic and the list goes on and on. He gave us all he had and took great care of us. We are so proud of him. He loved all things about auto repair. He had more than 65 years extensive experience diagnosing and repairing complex auto issues and identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions. He also enjoyed traveling, eating food, fishing and playing video games.

A lot of memories with dad, when I was kid, he always drove our family around. Visiting aunt and eating good stuff. After I learn how to drive from him, is my turn to drive him back. He likes to try new things, we gone fishing and skiing, he surprise me, he learn ski fast. We have a good time together. I also remember a few times of our fishing times; we have few buckets of fish. We also tried ice fishing, no fish but it was a good experience. We traveled China and have some massage, very relax. We also traveled to Taiwan, ate a lot of Taiwan food and visited sites. All my car’s problems are my dad fixes it. He is a car master. Dad likes slot machines; we drive to Wendover once a while. The weirdest thing is that it is very difficult to find him after we separated to play. Many memories with him, all above happen will be stored into my memory, thanks dad, love u always.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 21, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary; 3401 S. Highland Dr. Millcreek, Utah 84106. Interment will be on Saturday, December 21, 2024 at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary; 3401 S. Highland Dr. Millcreek, Utah 84106.
