Our Christ-like sweetheart, father, grandfather and friend was called home on Saturday January 21, 2017 while in the service of others. Steve was born on May 13, 1946 to Milan Royal Ericksen and Florence Marie Fowler in Murray Utah. Steve married his eternal companion Shirley Bateman in the Salt Lake Temple on March 14, 1969. Steve loved being a husband, father and grandfather and spent countless hours in the service of others. Steve gained a superhuman work ethic at a young age and was passionate about teaching his family the value of service. We will never know all that Steve did for others. To Steve, family was always first. Steve was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Steve served a LDS mission in the Alaska Canadian Mission from 1965 -1967 and two church service missions with his sweetheart. Steve served in various Church callings including Bishoprics Stake Presidencies, and anything related to IT. Steve loved life and the opportunity to travel to various places around the world with his loving wife and family. Alaska, Yellowstone, the family cabin, and Lake Powell held a special pace in his heart. Steve worked as a Computer Programmer, Systems Analyst, and IT Specialist for Utah Power and Light, Geneva Steel, Blue Cross of Utah and the Jordan School District.
Steve is survived by his eternal companion of 47 years Shirley, children Susan (Elden) Ellis, Michael (Ann) Ericksen, Frederick (Adrienne) Ericksen, Patricia Ericksen, Matthew (Jenni) Ericksen, 12 grandchildren, and sisters Gerrie Nievaard, Barbara Ericksen, and brother Marvin Ericksen.
