Sharon was born into a large family and enjoyed spending time with her “aunts” that were more like sisters. She went to South High where she acquired lifelong friends. She worked for Jack Taylor MD as a medical assistant for many years. Sharon met her husband, Ed Gerth, of 65 years at a dance, they dated for three months, and were married November 13,1952 and were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple.
Sharon and Ed had five children raised in Salt Lake City. Sharon loved deeply and enjoyed time spent with lifelong friends and family. Always shopping she would provide gifts and “treasures” for those she loved. Sharon enjoyed working in her yard, traveling and being in the sunshine with her grandchildren.
Sharon was a member of the LDS church. Preceded in death by her parents, husband Ed, daughter Shauna and brothers Dave and Jan. Survived by her brother Joel Kirk (Judy), three sons, daughter and son-in-law. Randy (Danielle), Todd (Julie), Deno (Wendy), Stephanie, Jim Calhoun, 21 grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren (lambies).
A viewing with be held on Friday, March 26th at 11:00 am at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 Highland Drive, Salt Lake City, followed by a graveside service prior to interment at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
