Marion Margarett Openshaw, 78, passed away peacefully early Easter morning, April 8, 2012 after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s disease. We find comfort in knowing that on his day of renewal she is once again whole and reunited with her Savior and family members previously passed. Marion was born on Nov. 10, 1933 to Henry and Mary Eckes in Wheatland, Wyoming where she spent her early childhood on the family farm. Marion moved to Loveland, Colorado where she graduated from the Loveland High School in 1951. Marion married her dear husband, Dee Blake Openshaw, on Feb. 23, 1957 in Elko, Nevada and had two sons, Kendal and Bryan. Marion excelled in her lifelong career with Mountain Bell and Qwest telephone companies as she continued her education at Westminster College. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who loved spending time with her family. She loved outdoor activities, camping, hunting, fishing, was an exceptional home maker and enjoyed numerous varieties of arts and crafts.
Marion is survived by her eldest son, Kendal Openshaw; daughter-in-law, Kimberly Openshaw/Carrol; her grandchildren, Kenyon, Blake and Brinley Openshaw. Marion was preceded in death by her husband, Dee Blake Openshaw; her younger son, Bryan R. Openshaw; her brothers Harold, Albert, Leroy and sisters Goldie and Betty Eckes.
