Leona Johnson

She was born on November 4, 1915 to Joseph & Grace Winger in Samaria, Idaho

Later moved to Utah. She had 3 brothers & 5 sisters.

She married Edgar Johnson on June 24 1937, together they had 4 daughters.

Janice (Merlyn/Bonnie) Johnson, Carole (Lew) Duffin, Barbara England & Peggie (Dennis) Thomas.

Preceded in death by her husband, daughter (Janice), parents, brothers, sisters,

Son-in-law (Lew) and 2 great grandsons.

Survived by 3 daughters, 2 sons-in-law, sisters Alice Jensen, Elnora Rodgers & Marilyn (Von) Cannon. 18 grandchildren, 46 great grandchildren & 14 great-great grandchildren.

Leona was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. During her lifetime she held many church positions. She was a member of the Daughters of Pioneers until her 90’s.

Leona was an avid bowler, sometimes on two leagues.

Leona’s greatest joy was her family & celebrating the holidays, she was an excellent cook especially pies!!!!!!

During her lifetime she will be remembered for her joy of a game of cards especially “Liverpool Rummy” with her sisters, daughters, nieces, grandchildren or anyone that was up for a game.

Leona could never say “no” to a person in need.

We would like to express our appreciation to the Wellington for their care, love & support, also Brighton Hospice for the great care they gave her in her last days.

Funeral services will be held Friday January 25, 2013 at 11:00 am

at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 Highland Dr, family will have a viewing one hour before services. Interment to follow at Wasatch Lawn.
