Laura Lee Sillitoe, age 58, passed away on October 10,2024. She was born on June 18, 1966 in Las Vegas, Nevada to Larry and Linda Lee. Laura graduated from Valley High School and received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Nevada Las Vegas. She loved her family, siblings, and friends very much.
It was evident to Laura’s children that they meant the world to their mother. She was always present and dedicated her time and energy to her children’s activities, sporting events, and school endeavors. Her commitment to motherhood was why her children had many special moments and learned lifelong values like hard work, responsibility, friendship, and faith.
Laura loved being a grandmother. She made her grandchildren feel important and loved by always bringing them a special gift. She was a loved and cherished grandma.
Laura was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She had a fierce and unwavering testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ and emulated His love to her children and friends. Laura loved going to the temple, and served in many church callings including primary president, as well as in the young women’s and relief society organizations. She valued the lifelong friendships she gained within her congregations. She also spent many hours volunteering and helping those in need.
Laura loved to travel and visited many places throughout the world including Brazil, Japan, Germany, England, Italy, and France. She cherished the adventures she had from those trips and many more she had with her family nearer to home. Laura was an extremely talented artist and interior designer which sparked artistic passion in her children. Laura enjoyed many good times laughing, joking, watching movies, and playing games with her family and friends.
Laura was preceded in death by her father Larry, and is survived by her former spouse of 27 years, Bruce; her four children, Jarin (Thamara), Jena (Ryan), Tysa (Scott), and Logan (Natalie); her five grandchildren Hailee, Josie, Seth, Addison, and Ruth; her mother Linda; and her siblings Larinda, Lisa, Landon, Larran, and Lincoln.
There will be a private viewing on October 18th at 10:15 am with a public service following at 11:00 am, both held at the LDS Chapel at 1002 Burkholder Blvd, Henderson, NV 89015. A burial will be held on October 19th at 11:00 am at the Panaca Cemetery at E Ernst St. Panaca, NV 89042.
