Jeanene was born February 26, 1937 to Sherman Mount Taylor and Ida Lucile Warr Taylor in Salt Lake City, Utah. Jeanene graduated from Olympus High School with honors and was captain of the cheer squad.
After high school Jeanene found her loving husband of 63 years, Wayne F. Goodman. They were sealed in the Salt Lake temple by Spencer W. Kimball on August 22, 1958. Wayne and Jeanene resided in East Millcreek and raised their three children Mark, Stephanie and Michelle. She was a beautiful mother who continually taught her children to choose the right through her loving example.
Jeanene was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and had a strong testimony of the Savior. She shared her testimony often with her children, family, and friends. Over the years she served in many positions in the church. Her passion for her ancestors and heritage drove Jeanene to spend countless hours researching genealogy lines and creating books to pass down to her children and family. She loved the scriptures and reading church publications.
Together Jeanene and Wayne built the successful bicycle business Hyland Schwinn Cyclery. They had 4 locations in the Salt Lake Valley and Orem. For generations Salt Lake valley families fulfilled their bicycling passions from visiting the bike shop.
Jeanene became very talented at piecing and sewing beautiful quilts. She often gave many away to those she loved. She had a green thumb and was very proud of her beautiful yard which was in constant bloom with flowers such as Iris, Peony, and Geraniums. In her later years Jeanene collected Department 56 Villages. Along with her husband, Wayne, she constructed highly detailed and ornate village settings. She enjoyed showing her masterpieces to family and friends.
Jeanene loved traveling with her family and close friends to Capistrano Beach in Southern California every year and to many of the Hawaiian Islands. Together Wayne and Jeanene camped, fished and snowmobiled up near Hebgen Lake in Montana. Jeanene and Wayne built their second home in West Yellowstone and continued to enjoy those activities in their retirement. One of her favorite past times was to be poolside with her children and grandchildren laughing and enjoying the summer months with them.
After a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer's Jeanene has finally been reunited in heaven with her sweetheart, Wayne. He missed her dearly and can now have his "sweetie" once more. Our hearts are full of happiness to think of their love and their reunion.
Jeanene is preceded in death by her husband, Wayne F. Goodman, her parents, Sherman and Lucile Taylor, one brother, Ronald Taylor and one sister, Rebecca Shutt. Jeanene is survived by her three children Mark Goodman (Julie), Stephanie Havell (Chris), and Michelle Goodman.
