Preceded in death by his Grandpa and Grandma Hunt, mother Ferol Jane Hunt and sister Ramona Black.
"Dave" as most people knew him, spent his early years with his Grandpa and Grandma Hunt. He was a proud Eagle Scout and graduated from East High School in 1967. Dave earned his Bachelor Degree from the University of Utah.
Dave married Vicki Hancock and had one daughter, Lauren Jolene, later divorced. Dave married Susan "Sue" Davis in Las Vegas on July 7, 1976. Dave gained his son, Brian, from this marriage. Dave and Sue have been married almost 45 years.
Dave worked as a mechanic in his younger years until finding his calling in the title insurance industry. He trained and worked tirelessly for years and eventually, he and Sue, along with Bruce Hancey, opened Founders Title Company in 1984. Dave was a past president of the ULTA and member of many title insurance boards. He was a pioneer in the industry and was admired and known as a fierce, fair and honest businessman. He continued with Founders Title until his retirement in 2007.
Dave loved folk music and was a proud sponsor of the Founders Title Company Folk & Bluegrass Festival for 20 years, where he made many friends. Dave and Sue retired to Las Vegas in July 2019, where he loved his home and found much peace and serenity there.
Dave will be remembered for his wicked sense of humor, twinkling eyes, intense logic and generous heart.
Dave is survived by his wife Susan, daughter Lauren, son Brian (Susan), wonderful grandchildren Grace, Paige and Rex and his beloved companion Nora (furry companion). Dave is also survived by his brother Steve (Ruby), sister-in-laws Jan (Mark) and Lorie (Larry), brother-in-law Jim, dear nieces and nephews, and many loved friends, too numerous to count.
"So, here's the deal….." There will be a visitation on Friday, April 16, 2021 at Wasatch Lawn Memorial, 3401 So. Highland Drive from 6 to 8pm. A small graveside service will be held Saturday, April 17, 2021 at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers, Dave would appreciate donations to American Diabetes Association or Best Friends Animal Society in his honor.
Dave is the rock of our family and will be remembered with love and laughter……Happy Fishin'!
