Nécrologie de Nicholas David Booth
On April 11th, 2023, Nicholas David Booth, 18, was killed in a car accident, along with his best friend, Will. Nick was a senior at James River High School and had planned to attend East Carolina University in the fall. He is survived by his parents David and Jennifer, his beloved sister, Maggie, grandparents, cousins, aunts, and uncles too numerous to list here, and his dogs Lucy and Scarlett. Nick was an avid athlete. He played baseball, football, and basketball as a youth, had recently developed a love for lacrosse, tennis, golf, playing poker and had developed his hoops game through hours and hours of playing at the gym. His number one activity, however, was snowboarding. He could be found many weekends at Wintergreen working to get better. He loved to fish, hike, and camp and had a passion for being outside. Nick LOVED working as a camp counselor at ACAC, and developed relationships with his campers that meant the world to him. Most of all, Nick was kind, smart and funny. His friends meant everything to him, and regardless the activity, he just wanted to be with his boys, laughing, talking smack, and having fun. His smile was infectious, his heart was kind, his love was all-consuming. If you didn’t know him, we wish you could have, because he was truly special. There will be a memorial service for the boys on Friday, April 21st from 6 to 8 pm at ACAC Midlothian, on the turf field. Our family asks that you dress in something that reminds you of the boys. In preparation for the memorial the families asking for donations of video memories and testimonials about the boys. Video submissions can be sent to [email protected]. The submissions will be compiled into one video to be shared at their memorial. Submissions must be made by Wednesday, April 26 to be included in the service, but later submissions are welcome. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Friends of the James River and Ring Dog Rescue.
