Mary Christine Kaiser-Sloop passed away peacefully on Friday, September 2, 2022.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Mary Kaiser.
She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Paul Sloop; son, William Sloop of North Chesterfield, VA; daughters, Kristen Leigh Rose (Roger) of Morehead, KY and Angela Sloop Armstrong (Rey) of Montpelier, OH; brother, William Kaiser of Cincinnati, OH; as well as numerous extended family members and friends.
Chris attended Rogers High School in Toledo, OH, graduating in 1970 at the top of her class. She earned her undergraduate degree from the Miami University of Ohio, and later earned her Masters at the University of Toledo. An avid bridge player, Chris, was a member of multiple bridge groups, an active member of the Midlothian Women's Club, a member of the Red Hats and enjoyed spending time with the garden club.
Known to her friends as "Donna Reed with an attitude," Chris was the "Hostest with the mostest" and her Eve of Christmas Eve Party was not to be missed. She was indeed a true force of nature.
The family will receive friends from 2-5pm on Thursday, September 8, at Woody Funeral Home - Huguenot Chapel.
A funeral Mass will be held at 11am on Friday, September 9 at The Cathedral of the Sacred Hearts, 823 Cathedral Pl, Richmond, VA 23220.
Interment will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church Cemetery in Maumee, OH at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
A special thanks goes out to the Chesterfield County EMS and the Emergency Room at St. Francis Medical Center.
