Bruce grew up in Asheville, N.C. and Atlanta, Ga. He was a proud WWII veteran, having served in the U.S. Army as a sergeant technician in a Railroad Battalion from 1942 to 1945. He served in North Africa, and the European and Pacific Theatres before returning to work for Southern Railway in Washington, D.C., where he worked for 35 years. Bruce and Ruth moved to Midlothian in 2011 and happily lived out their lives. He was the consummate Southern gentleman –a kind and gentle man and a friend to all who knew him.
