Betty Mae George Hogan

HOGAN, Betty Mae George, of N. Chesterfield passed away December 1, 2015. She was a graduate of John Marshall High School, class of 1953. She was preceded in death by her parents, Chester DeWitt and Roberta Taylor George; sisters, Margaret Glaza, Dorothy Welton, Edith McCabe, Roberta "Jean" Manning and Joyce Webb; brothers, Chester, DeWitt, Thomas, William, John and Frank George. Surviving are her husband of 57 years, Gerald A. "Jerry" Hogan; daughters, Brenda H. Staehle (George) and Melissa H. Bullard (Rob); grandchildren, Sarabeth Wise (Brandon), Dana Barefoot (Andrew), Jacob Bullard and Nicholas Bullard; great-grandchildren, Carson and Elijah Barefoot and Mary Rose Wise; brother, Robert George; and many very special nieces and nephews and their families. She was retired from Verizon and was active Weatherford Memorial Baptist Church and New Vision Baptist Church, where she enjoyed serving children as a Sunday school teacher for many years.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, December 4, at the Huguenot Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1020 Huguenot Rd., where funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, December 5, 2015.
