Born in Memphis, Tennessee, Amy migrated north to New Jersey around age 6 where she developed her love of animal print, big hair in the late 80’s and early 90’s, and, of course, Bon Jovi. Although she faced many hardships in her short life, she always persevered and was the most loyal, caring, loving, and nurturing soul. After high school, she trained in computer science, working in both the mortgage and pharmaceutical industries doing help desk, technical writing, and IT project management. Following the births of her two sons, Michael and Tommy, she decided to put her career on hold to devote all of her time to her boys. During that time she relocated to Midlothian, Virginia in support of her husband’s career, where she has lived the last 12 years of her life and established a vast friend network. Most recently, seeing her boys developing into independent young men, she decided to follow her passion for creativity, writing and arts, returning to school in pursuit of her degree in visual/graphic arts. When she wasn’t studying or doting on her family, she loved watching the Phillies and Eagles, chatting with the girls, reality TV, and her occasional trips to the casinos (especially Las Vegas).
The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at St. Edward the Confessor Catholic Church, immediately followed by a funeral mass at 12:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Children’s Hospital of Richmond via the following link (https://www.chrichmond.org/make-a-difference ), which is the next local project for Amy's other passion, the nonprofit Humans for Good.
