Stephen Taylor Thompson, 62, of Midland passed away on Wednesday, January 9, 2013. He was born on May 24, 1950 in Midland to Ted T. Thompson and Opal Dee Taylor. Steve was a motorcycle enthusiast; he always had a Harley and loved riding with his friends. He was an avid gun collector and knife collector. Steve was part of the D.A.V- Disabled American Vets after being in the United States Marine Corps in 1st BN. 1st RGT. 1st MARINE DIVISION, which he received many ribbons and medals for his service. He was very proud of his military service-Semper Fi. Steve spent most of his adult life in Austin, but came home to be with his family in the last couple of years. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ted and Dee, sister Tedda and his daughter Dawn.
Those left behind to honor and cherish his memory are his sister Judy Guelker and her husband Tony, four nieces, one nephew, several great nieces and nephews and several great-great nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his precious furry babies K.C. and Abigail.
A memorial service has been scheduled for Saturday, January 12, 2013 at 11:00am at the Ellis Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Bob Porterfield officiating.
