Patricia Lou Manley Fuller passed away Friday, October 4, 2013. She was born on November 2, 1926 in Springfield, MO to Charles Benton Manley and Edna Harriet Ewers Manley. Patricia lived with her family in Springfield until she was 5 years old and they moved to Tulsa, OK. She graduated from Tulsa Central High School in 1944. She attended Oklahoma University and graduated in 1948 with a B.A. in journalism. Patricia (Patty) and her husband Lawrence (Larney) L. Fuller were married May 18, 1946 in the Wheeling Avenue Christian Church in Tulsa, OK. They lived in Norman, OK where Patricia worked as a general news reporter for the Norman Transcript. Patty and Larney moved to Ft. Worth, TX with Gulf Oil Corporation in 1950 and transferred to Midland in 1954. After a short time in Roswell, they moved back to Midland in 1957 where lived until 2012.
Patricia was a member of the First Christian Church, Kappa Alpha Theta fraternity, a lifetime member of the PTA, long-time member of RHCC WGA and GT-LGA, University Graduate Women, bridge clubs, and taught Sunday school at the First Christian Church.
She is survived by son, Gary Blaine Fuller and his wife Julie, Dallas, TX; daughter, Patricia Kathryn Fuller and her husband Brett Birnbaum, Phoenix, AZ; daughter-in-law, Deborah H. Fuller; brother, Charles Benton Manley and wife Kimberly, St. Louis, MO; grandchildren, Jay Brian Fuller, Washington D.C.; Monica Fuller Waechter and husband Eric, Baton Rouge, LA; Blaine Douglas Fuller, Baton Rouge, LA; Colin and Kendall Birnbaum, Phoenix, AZ; great-grandson, Cannon Waechter; great-granddaughter, Alden Elise Waechter; special family friend, Cindy Hanson, Brooklyn, NY.
Patricia is predeceased by Lawrence, her husband of 66 years; both her parents; and son, Douglas Gordon Fuller.
Patty was special to everyone that knew her and she will be missed greatly by her family and friends.
There will be a visitation on Friday, October 11, 2013 from 6:30-8:00 pm at Ellis Funeral Home. Her services will be Saturday, October 12, 2013 at 11 am at the First Christian Church. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Parkinson’s disease Foundation and High Sky Children’s Ranch.
