Melanie Susan Parkins

Melanie was born on March 3rd, 1959 in Ranger, Texas. She grew up in many places as her father worked in the oilfield. She herself worked in the oil business, beginning and ending her career of 35 years with Hunt Oil Company. First and foremost Melanie was devoted to her family. She loved her children and cherished her grandchildren. She married the love of her life, John Parkins, on Valentine's day 1982. Together they raised two amazing children.

Melanie began to suffer the effects of early-onset dementia in 2014. She faced her illness with dignity and bravery.

Melanie leaves behind her husband John Parkins, her daughter Kristina Savage and husband Robert, and her son Lucas Parkins and wife Emma, Grandchildren Jordan McComic and husband Luke, Averi Savage, Brighton Savage, Zaylon Parkins, Barrett Parkins, & Ember Parkins

The family would like to acknowledge Legacy Ranch and their wonderful employees Jen and Kimberly for lovingly taking care of Melanie.

The family would also like to thank Heart to Heart Hospice.

A celebration of life for Melanie will be held Thursday, December 1, 2022, at 11:00 AM at Ellis Resthaven Funeral Home, 4616 N Big Spring Street, Midland, Texas 79705.
