Juanita LaVerne Garrett

Juanita Branum Garrett, 97 years, 11months. She passed away on October 2, 2015. She was born in Hobart, OK on November 3, 1917. Juanita married Frank Garrett in 1938. They moved to Midland, TX from Hobbs, NM in 1951.

She is preceded in death by her parents Ben and Eula (Davenport) Branum; brothers Ben Branum, Jr. (who was lost at sea on the submarine U.S.S. Snook in World War II); Lowell Branum; Buddy Branum; husband Frank Garrett and one grandson, Howard Cunningham.

She is survived by daughter Frances and husband Art Laengrich and her children: Terry Garrett and wife Kathy, Gary Garrett, Donna and husband Jeff Wishard, Scott Garrett and wife Hettie. Daughter Jackie and husband Jerry Reese and her children: Cathy and husband Tony McCollum, Nancy and husband Frank List. She is survived by seven great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and one sister, Hope Branum Tonde.

There will be a Visitation on Monday, October 5, 2015 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Ellis Funeral Home followed by a Graveside Service at 3:00 p.m. at Resthaven Memorial Park, in Midland.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the Medina Children’s Home at 21300 Hwy 16, Medina, TX 78055, or to Hospice of Midland, P.O. Box 2621, Midland TX 79701.
