Joyce was born In Port Neches, Texas on June 1. 1950 to Woodrow and Wanda Phillips. She graduated from Midland High School in 1968. Joyce was married to Jackie Taylor on July 12, 1969: they were married for 47 years.
Joyce worked several jobs in Midland but most notably she was a secretary for Mobil Oil Company. She was active in Midland County 4H and FFA. She enjoyed time with her family, sewing, and coffee with friends and most of all spending time with her husband.
Joyce is preceded in death by her nephew Ron Smith and parents.
Joyce is survived by her husband Jackie Taylor; son Dusty and wife Rachelle of Midland, Texas: son Joel of Pflugerville, Texas and daughter Elizabeth of Midland; brother Lloyd Phillips of Lubbock, Texas; sister Wanda Smith of Denver City, Texas; sister Ann Thompson of Lubbock and seven grandchildren; Madison, Jordan, Wyatt, Mason. Cassidy, Jason and Naomi.
Visitation will be held at 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on April 14, 2018 at Ellis Funeral Home.
